This wilderness based camp
is a wonderful opportunity for student groups or families to
share in a Mountain Learning Experience. Many aspects of the outdoor world are presented
in a experiential approach.
Our guides will put together a curriculum based on the interest
and expectations of each group .
The Gore Range (north of
Vail) is the backdrop for the Mountain Skills Camp. Our base camp lies at the
head waters of Pitkin Creek,
in the heart of the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area. Llamas assist in
carrying camp gear and provisions during the 6 miles. to camp. 4
to 6 days are recommended depending on the extent of the program
desired .
Our emphasis is on those
skills that make travel in the mountains safe, exciting and
rewarding for all those who seek the adventure, solitude and
camaraderie that the alpine world can provide. Rock climbing, mountaineering, snow
travel, map and compass, camp craft, fishing, natural history,
geology, backcountry survival skills and personal developmental
skills are many of the subjects that can be covered .
Paragon guides is committed to offering a program
that promotes self expression, guided learning and the opportunity
for fun in a relaxed and sharing environment.
